FOUNDATION FIRST
The Base Pillar Everything Else Is Built On
Noorani Qaida builds the essential skills every child needs before reading the Qur’an confidently. It teaches correct Arabic pronunciation, reading rules, and the basics of Tajweed from the very beginning.

✅ Makharij (Letter
Pronunciation)
✅ Harakaat (Vowel Marks)
✅ Tanween & Sukoon
✅ Madd Rules
✅ Basic Tajweed
✅ Reading Confidence
Why it Matters
Rushing through Noorani Qaida creates reading habits that are much harder to correct later. A strong foundation makes Qur’an reading smoother, more accurate, and more confident for years to come.
Strong Foundation.
Beautiful Recitation.
Every confident Qur’an reader starts with Noorani Qaida. Master the basics first, then progress to fluent Qur’an reading with correct Tajweed.
The Right Way to Begin Even If It’s Not How Most Teachers Start
Traditionally, Ta’awwuz and Tasmiyah are recited first so many teachers assume they should be taught first too. We don’t.
Why: Ta’awwuz and Tasmiyah are themselves made of Arabic letters. Fix them before the letters are correct, and you’re building on a foundation that isn’t set.
Lesson one: every Arabic letter, pronounced correctly, with proper Tajweed articulation. Slow and deliberate sometimes a couple of weeks, sometimes a month or more.
Only once letters are secure: we correct Ta’awwuz and Tasmiyah.
Then, all 16 lessons in sequence each one a new rule, building on the last.

How Long Does It Really Take?
Honest Timelines, Not Empty Promises
Most children
4-6 months
Our fastest student
2.5 months
Adult beginners
often faster, thanks to quicker grasp of logic and rules
Speed was never the goal a properly built foundation was. We never compare your child’s pace to anyone else’s.
The Same Foundation, Taught Two Different Ways

For Children
For Children simpler explanations, more repetition, paced to how a young learner absorbs new sounds. We know in advance which letters are likely to need extra time.

For Adults
For Adults fewer “too old” or “too behind.” Many start from zero, including reverts, in a judgement-free environment. Adults generally grasp concepts faster.
A Structured Path, Not a Random Order
Correct pronunciation and articulation (makharij) of every letter
Ta’awwuzu Billah and Tasmiyah once letters are secure
Vowel marks: fatha, kasra, damma (harakaat)
Tanween and sukoon
Madd elongation rules
Joined and disconnected letter forms
Early Tajweed: ghunnah, qalqalah, idgham, ikhfa introduced gradually
Some Letters Are Genuinely Harder That’s Completely Normal
Certain Arabic sounds don’t exist in English or everyday Urdu:
Throat letters
ع ح خ غ
Heavy/emphatic letters
ص ض ط ظ
Confusable pairs
س/ص ت/ط
We know in advance which letters are likely to be difficult for a particular student so we give those letters the extra time they need.
What Happens After Noorani Qaida?
Our student Musaleen began at age 4 and, within a year, had completed his full Qur’an reading with Tajweed too. [Read his story →]
